Dr. H. Purushotham, IPR Chair Professor of Andhra University, through a communication informed Andhra University that he was nominated by the AICTE Committee on IPRs.

AICTE nominated Dr. Hanumanthu Purushotham, DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor of Andhra
University, Visakhapatnam as an Expert Member of the Intellectual Property
Rights (IPRs) Course Committee to develop course content on Intellectual
Property Rights for the benefit of faculty and students of Higher Education in
our Country.
The
Innovation Cell of Ministry of Education and AICTE Govt. of India aims to
create awareness regarding the need for IP filing, mechanisms and methodologies
in IP filing in India and abroad especially amongst students, staff and faculty
of our higher education institutions and proposes to introduce a credit course
in all higher education technical institutes under the Kalam Program for IP
Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA).The Expert Committee has 8 members from various
institutions of repute like IIT Delhi, Andhra University, JNU,IIM Ahmadabad,
IIT Kharagpur, i-Hub Ahmadabad ,Ministry of Education and AICTE and is Chaired
by Prof. PVM Rao of IIT Delhi. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. P.V.G.D.Prasad Reddy
and Registrar Prof. V.Krishna Mohan expressed their view that his nomination on
the Committee on IPR by AICTE would benefit the University is the quick
launching of the program for the benefit of students and faculty on the
sensitization of IPR filing process leading to acquisition of patents.
